✅ Recognize Your Thought Triggers:
- What situation or event usually sparks negative self-talk? (e.g., making a mistake, receiving feedback, feeling behind)
✅ Pause Before Reacting:
- When a negative thought appears, stop and ask: Is this thought true? Is it helping me or holding me back?
✅ Reframe the Thought:
- Instead of “I’m terrible at this” → Try “I’m learning, and I’ll improve with practice.”
✅ Identify the Emotion Behind the Thought:
- Are you reacting from fear, frustration, or self-doubt?
- What would a growth-minded response sound like?
✅ Break the Automatic Reaction Cycle:
- If your first reaction to a setback is guilt, replace it with curiosity: What is this teaching me?
✅ Replace Judgment with Kindness:
- Shift from “I always mess up” to “I am capable and improving.”
- Think: If a friend was in your position, how would you encourage them?
✅ Develop a Personal Reset Phrase:
- Example: “Pause. Reframe. Move forward.”
- Find a phrase that helps you shift your mindset instantly.
✅ Track Your Self-Talk Patterns:
- Keep a journal of thoughts, what triggered them, and how you reframed them.
- Look for patterns—what triggers your most self-critical moments?
✅ Turn Small Wins into Momentum:
- Celebrate when you successfully reframe a negative thought!
- Progress builds confidence—acknowledge every shift in your self-talk.
✅ Train Your Brain Daily:
- Start each morning with an empowering question: “How do I want to show up today?”
- End the day by reflecting: “What did I tell myself today that moved me forward?”
